On their first album without their fearless leader and founder Oderus Urungus—who passed away unexpectedly in 2014—GWAR keep their unique brand of humorous monster metal alive. Now fronted by bassist Blothar, the beloved intergalactic goon squad deliver their most musical and melodic material in years, including epic space-metal opener “War on GWAR,” thunderous rocker “Viking Death Machine,” and infectious Nuge-style banger “I’ll Be Your Monster.” The album closes with a life-affirming cover of AC/DC’s “If You Want Blood (You Got It).”
