This Chilean trio of childhood friends—Diego Lorca, Juan Pablo Rodriguez, and Domingo Garcia-Huidobro—create trance-like music with deep roots in Hawkwind and groove-oriented Krautrock without turning completely motorik. The trio added electronic star Uwe Schmidt (a.k.a. Atom TM) on vintage Korg synths that were popularized by Kraftwerk in their live shows from the ‘80s. At just four tracks in 45 minutes, the album centers on meditative pieces, with only “Feuerzeug” breaking into guitar hero riffs during its generally space-aged jam. The other individual tracks hold onto their specific moods and slowly if ever shift shape. This is music designed for driving and for headphones.

The Chilean band Föllakzoid specialize in the pillowy sort of rock music designed to shield you from the world for a while. At its best, their music gains allure by gradually stacking up moments of powerful suggestion.

The return of Chilean ‘cosmic music’ band Föllakzoid, infusing their subtly shifting minimalism with more mystical South American influences.
