Apricot Angel is: a walk down the shore, a twirl in the tidepools, the sound of settling and stretching. Written over the course of a year, Flung's second record was inspired by currents and beach grit. The music wanders, explores, and returns; Apricot Angel's twelve tracks cling to each other in fragile focus. Layers float in and out, songs take their time to build through long cycles that crescendo like waves crashing onto the shore, fleeting moments between tracks become catchments, portals into a world. Kollaikal's music sits with transness, memory, and healing, holding feelings close and then placing them back down, charged. The joy of restless experimentation from Flung's debut, Shaky But My Hair Is Grown, still courses through Apricot Angel, but the freneticism of the first record yields here to the gentle cohesion of an artist finding their voice. Released via Citrus City Records. Cassette tapes & a bonus mixtape by Flung are available at Citrus City's Bandcamp page: citruscityrecords.bandcamp.com/album/apricot-angel
