Supercry

The Brisbane singer/songwriter’s second LP is all brave, incandescent mood music. Written with producer Pascal Gabriel (Kylie Minogue, Goldfrapp) in a French castle, *Supercry* combines tidy arrangements (pristine electronics, sharp live instrumentation) with Louise’s deeply honest lyrical turns and haunting vocals. The result, like elegiac highlight “Nowhere,” is reminiscent of Fionna Apple.
