Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats have a preternatural chemistry. They proved this dynamic symbiosis on *UNLOCKED*, a quick-bursting EP from 2020 that blends Curry’s brash, punk-inspired flow with Kenny’s ability to shine within any sort of style. Kenny Beats is the production equivalent of a world-class tailor—he fits whoever he’s working with. At his best, the seams never show. *UNLOCKED 1.5* is a remix of that electric project, with both artists diving deep into their Rolodexes to unveil some epic collaborations. “DIET\_1.5” features a new verse from Benny the Butcher, and “Track07” includes Arlo Parks, in addition to a remix from the visionary Georgia Anne Muldrow. On *UNLOCKED*, Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats showed just how much fun two friends can have together; on *1.5*, they turn the hang into a party.

The duo’s refurbished EP gets the typical sequel treatment, with new characters and a glossy finish that makes you miss the gritty original.
