The follow-up to *Hysteria* and their first album without guitarist Steve Clark, *Adrenalize* marked the beginning of a new era for Def Leppard. Party anthem and Bart Simpson tribute “Let’s Get Rocked” sets the cocksure tone for bawdy rocker “Make Love Like a Man” and the stacked backing vocals of “Heaven Is” and “I Wanna Touch U,” while lovelorn power ballads “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad” and “Tonight” provide a pop foil to the moody, seven-minute epic “White Lightning.”

After two straight blockbusters that delivered the goods both musically and commercially, anticipation ran high for Def Leppard's follow-up to Hysteria, in spite of the tragic death of guitarist Steve Clark.

Def Leppard - Adrenalize review: Over-produced & gimmicky to mixed results, there is enough here to satisfy both casual & loyal fans. But don’t expect the standard set by the band’s 2 previous masterpieces to be matched.
