This Northwestern Indiana trio return their tempos to the days when bands and fuzzy solo projects like Red House Painters, Idaho, Codeine, and Low found their disparate sounds united as the genre slowcore, an awkward journalist-coined term that was often used simultaneously with sadcore. The point being that the songs are heavy but tuneful, introspective yet wild. *Further Out*, Cloakroom’s second album, was recorded, mixed, and mastered 100% analog with Matt Talbott (Hum/Centaur). More importantly, songs like “Lossed Over” and “Starchild Skull” add gorgeous harmonies and tempo increases to the band\'s résumé.

Indiana "stoner emo" outfit Cloakroom's debut album, Further Out, packs a wealth of hooks, even if it’s an album for the gearheads who’d rather spend time and money assessing amplifier nuance than effects pedals.

Indiana-based trio Cloakroom have described their sound as "stoner emo," making note of their equal love of sludgy, looming walls of guitar; mumbling, sad-hearted vocals; and yearning, melodic chord changes.
