Carlita describes her debut album as a reflection of her inner world. As the Turkish Italian producer imbues her work with sounds sourced from her broad musical tastes and worldly travels, *Sentimental* is similarly sprawling in its intimate exploration of love, heartbreak, and the emotions in between. The euphoria beaming from the piano house of “Planet Blue” and “Forever Baby” is juxtaposed by the driving melody and longing of “Wait for You,” while the melancholy “Falling” is subdued with its gentle guitar riffs. More personal moments emerge on the richly textured “Trouble Symphony,” which features Carlita’s mentor DJ Tennis, and sleek disco number “The Moment,” the final iteration of the first track she ever produced, back in 2015. But *Sentimental*’s heart lies in its penultimate song, “Time,” which she wrote during a rough period in her life. Warm and introspective, it imparts a feeling of hope and healing: “All comes back to me/All that I ever need/Just a little time.”
