Carla Morrison doesn’t hang around the surface. On her second indie-pop album, introspection reigns. First she plunges into her feelings, then pulls up to soar over delicate sonic textures crafted by producer Natalia Lafourcade. Morrison doesn’t need crazy props to elicit emotion—tender, piano-backed lullabies (“Compartir”) and naked ballads wrapped in nothing but a ukulele (“Este Momento”) do the trick.
