Optimism has never sounded this catchy. The collaboration between Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou has always felt soulfully organic, but the Queensland duo’s winsome roots-pop is granted a grander scope than ever on their fourth album. “Someday Comes Around” offers wisdom about not giving up when things seem bleak, while the strummy “Naba Norem (The Reef Song)” is derived from a traditional children’s song from the Torres Strait Islands. A polish bolsters the pair’s blues and folk roots, leaning into a meatier country sound and chant-worthy chorus on “Over Drinking Over You.”
