The Secret of the Sea is the third album by Bruno Bavota, an Italian composer whose early works were often compared to Ludovico Einaudi. With the piano always at the core of its compositions, The Secret of the Sea introduces a level of experimentation in both composition and technique previously unheard from Bavota. In addition to traditional piano, we hear acoustic guitars and an array of delay and reverb pedals designed to represent the restless movement and vast mysteries of the sea. Originally released in 2014, The Secret of the Sea was Bavota’s most accomplished album to date, and a defining turning point and guiding model for Bavota’s young career.
