BRELAND makes his long-awaited debut with *Cross Country*, a cleverly titled collection of idiosyncratic country music reflecting the emerging star’s diverse influences. The album comes on the heels of several buzzy years for BRELAND, who first broke out with his 2019 debut single “My Truck,” which he soon followed with a string of high-profile collaborations, like the *Cross Country* tracks “Praise the Lord” (featuring Thomas Rhett) and “Throw It Back” (featuring Keith Urban). Those tracks, along with other standouts like “For What It’s Worth” and the title track, offer a glimpse into BRELAND’s kaleidoscopic country vision, which he tells Apple Music is “an amalgamation of those different intersections.” “It\'s not like, ‘Oh, this is straight up and down country music how people might normally identify it,’” he explains. “But it\'s definitely associated with country music. And so I was like, you know what? I think the term ‘cross country’ resonates with me, at least, because it\'s a cross between country and all the other genres.”

Cross Country is a clever titular pun for Breland: on this 2022 debut album, he covers a lot of ground, crossing musical streams in the process.
