Emboldened by the success of *Enema of the State*, blink-182 oozes confidence on this boisterous effort. Each song is a bold, loud, and brash nod to revved-up hardcore fury (\"Online Songs\"), spring-loaded punk snarls (\"Reckless Abandon\"), or churning rock \'n\' roll (\"Shut Up\"). Although occasional insecurities or regrets crop up, blink\'s lyrics generally take audacious stands. \"Anthem, Pt. 2\" attacks clueless adults who are ruining society for kids, while the dizzying \"First Date\" envisions hitting it off with a crush.

Staccato mosh-drums, brittle-boned punk-superlite guitar, whiny vocals about the kids being ‘misunderstood’ and grown-ups being ‘fucked and boring’ and stuff – the opening track, ‘Anthem Part Two’, is unmistakably Blink-182.
