Hidden Amongst the Trees and Foothills

'Hidden Amongst the Trees and Foothills' was recorded this past spring during what I would describe as a very weird time for me. I was experiencing a constant sense of isolation and feeling disconnected with both myself and others. Playing guitar has been a constant source of peace for me and these are some tracks that came out of this difficult period. Looking back now, I feel like I'm in a different, better place now. I hope this music will bring peace to others just as it has done for me. Over the past several months, I really started diving into finger-style playing, having found the music from John Fahey, Jack Rose, and Robbie Basho. Fahey in particular was a huge inspiration for some of these tracks and is what led me to develop a love of Open C tuning. -Ethan Helfrich
