In this expansive mix, the endlessly curious Icelandic musician weaves through entire regions of sound, showing how local musicians are referencing and recontextualizing traditional folk music in modern, club-oriented settings. You’ll hear new wave gqom from the South African trio Omagoqa, Bugandan drumming by the Ugandan techno outfit Nihiloxica, and a dark-edged fusion of gabber and grindcore courtesy of Gabber Modus Operandi.
