Earth into Aether draws from many of my self-released albums. It includes new mixes of a couple old song plus two new orchestral tracks recorded at Issue Project Room NYC. The diversity of the material is intended to show the diversity of my many past releases. What began as a compilation turned into its own beast, and this album feels like its own proper entity. 'Earth Into Aether' is Bill Baird's first release via newly formed Talk Show Records. This is a freewheeling two-disc, nineteen-track work of magnificence, a spontaneous-sounding series of musical postcards sent direct from the heart of a fertile mind in response to all that modern America has to offer. It embraces and incorporates electronica, garage pop, reverb-drenched psychedelia, prog rock complexities, country and a thousand varied sonic flavours. This is very loosely truth-seeking music shot through with pockets of liminal space. "For those unfamiliar with the term, 'liminal space' refers to a place of uncertainty," explains Baird. "A liminal space is the place in between moments. For me, these moments of uncertainty comprise the most exciting moments of life. New ideas are born. Classifications become irrelevant." Fans of Nico, The Velvet Underground, George Harrison, Townes Van Zandt and Brian Eno, to name a few, will be in for a treat. 2LP - Heavyweight yellow vinyl double album in a Gatefold sleeve accompanied by a limited Rough Trade exclusive linoleum block print cover Crayola-coloured CD consisting of five songs. Bill Baird has been plugging away since the start of this century, as a member of Sound Team, under the Sunset nom de plume, and as a solo artist.
