Betty Who goes full pop diva on *The Valley*, her spunky, arena-ready sophomore album. Each song is a smart spin on classic and contemporary pop trends: “Some Kinda Wonderful” has Spice Girls-era attitude, “Mama Say” is a breathy nod to Britney Spears, and “Pretend You’re Missing Me” whistles and drops with EDM flair à la Kiesza or Robyn. Unsurprisingly, her cover of Donna Lewis’ “I Love You Always Forever” is a home run.
