Exit du Départ
With two new electronic compositions filled with soundscapes from far away lands, vocal loops and hints of a lonely piano, Benjamin Finger takes us on a glorious meditative journey. On april 4th 2021, Benjamin Finger (Oslo, Norway) will release his album “Exit du Départ” via Oscarson (Dinklage, Germany). This album will be Benjamin’s 15th to date, and takes the listener on a winding two part journey. The preorder starts December the 18th 2020. Benjamin has been composing music with a healthy disregard for genres since 2007. His palette moves between psych-collages, droned out-jams, piano miniatures, classical minimalism, off-kilter pop, and an occasional stab at garbled dance music. A textural and emotionally resonant cocktail in a blurred, shimmering, and psychedelic world. Benjamin has played at various clubs and venues in Norway (both as an artist and DJ) and has also toured the United States. He performed at the Supernormal Festival, the Klangfest Festival, Echoes on the Road and ALARM. In 2018, he went on tour in the United Kingdom and also played at the Rewire Festival in The Hague (2018) with Mia Zabelka and John Hegre. He performed with the same trio at the 2019 Meakusma Festival in Belgium. In addition to making music, Benjamin works as a filmmaker, having studied at the University of Bergen and Oslo Photo Art School and the Film and TV Academy (NISS) in Oslo. Since then, he has completed several short films and music videos (for Trupa Trupa among others). He has shown works at Fotogalleriet (Vårutstillingen for fotografer) 2001, Trondheim Open 2011 and Smiths Row (UK) in 2013.
