The Tomb Within
THE 2010 RELEASE OF SUPREME DEATH METAL SICKNESS WHICH MARKED THE RETURN OF THE US GORE MASTERS Californian gore-metallers Autopsy emerged in 1987 and had an almost immediate impact on the global underground metal scene. The original line-up consisted of Danny Coralles, Eric Cutler and frontman Chris Reifert, who was already known due to his work as drummer with Death, Florida's highly-respected extreme metal combo. Autopsy’s debut album, Severed Survival was unleashed in 1989 on Peaceville Records and the band went on to become true legends in the death metal scene, recording 4 studio albums in total, before splitting up in the mid 1990’s. After a 15 year period which saw Chris and Danny heavily involved with their band Abscess, it was time to answer the wishes of fans worldwide and embark upon a fresh spree of Autopsy brutality, so on 19th July 2010 the band entered Fantasy Studios with Adam Munoz to begin a new legacy, with the original trio joined by Joe Trevisano on bass. The Tomb Within was released in September 2010, marked the triumphant return of Autopsy and consisted of 5 new tunes of gore and depravity, with cover art supplied by renowned fantasy/horror artist Matt Cavotta.
