Congregation of the Damned
On their relentless fifth album, *Congregation of the Damned*, Atreyu reconcile their love of classic hard-rock swagger with their contemporary metalcore assault. The former is represented in the distorted gothic-rock strut of \"Black Days Begin\" and melodic roaring of \"Coffin Nails,\" while the band’s pummeling tendencies surface most clearly on the string-reinforced riff tornado “Bleeding Is a Luxury,” led by Alex Varkatzas’ gruff, barking vocals.
True to its title, Congregation of the Damned is a much darker album than anything else that Atreyu has has released to date.
Atreyu - Congregation of the Damned review: Despite its best intentions, Congregation of the Damned is just another Atreyu album fueled by dated ideas and repetitive songwriting.
