Pintxos

I spent a few weeks in Spain and fell in love with, among many other wonders, pintxos - a type of bar snack that might feature anything from seasoned mushrooms to chicken gizzards but is always skewered to a small piece of bread. The romantic bar atmosphere over there probably didn't hurt either. I started to draw a parallel between these dishes and this collection of tracks I've been working on for several years. Most of them clocking in under 2 minutes, they are bite-size slices of many different flavors, but all grounded in a framework of hip-hop beats. Built mostly on vinyl and VHS samples, this album is sometimes playful and sometimes hard-hitting, but never sits still. Put it on and enjoy a 24-course meal of drums and dusty record grooves.
