Gangsta Rap

A follow-up to his 2010 effort *Da Krazies*, *Fear Thy Neighbor* finds Ampichino still doing what he does best, serving up deep lyricism about every aspect of the drug game and street-hustler lifestyle. The Akron, Ohio, emcee has been getting better and better over the course of eight solo albums and a gang of collaborative concept albums with The ReGime (headed by Yukmouth), The Jacka (as Devilz Rejects), Berner (on the exceptional *Traffic* project), and others. With a thoughtful style somewhat reminiscent of Scarface and Cormega, Amp takes listeners into a dark world of illicit business, delving into not just big money and high living but also the pain and paranoia that accompanies it. High-quality production fuses \'80s samples with thick slabs of bass and seriously knocking drums; it\'s an ideal backdrop for his cinematic storytelling. We also get strong verses from J. Stalin, Sosa, Rydah, Young Boss, Chino Nino, and A.R. Deville. Don\'t miss \"Betrayal,\" \"Never Here,\" and \"Getting Over U.\"
