Peruvian-born and L.A.-based, this singer-producer casts a spell with this full-length set of sultry moods. “Far From Home” and “Vibe W/U” are far catchier than stoned-out sex ballads have any right to be. The feeling of relaxed hedonism runs throughout the album, peaking with “4 U,” a woozy expression of lust captured in slow motion. With its skeletal jazz piano loop and A.CHAL’s honeyed voice filling the empty spaces, the title song is a cornerstone, but don’t bypass the psychedelic revelations of “Memories.” Its disorienting, reverse-moving beat perfectly conveys a mind racing backwards to remember a wild night.
