The London DJ/production trio Above & Beyond have checked off pretty much every box on your average EDM supergroup\'s bucket list: run a successful label (Anjunabeats); crush a Vegas residency; release countless singles, remixes, and studio albums; win awards for all of it. So what\'s next? How about hiring a 15-piece orchestra to perform acoustic versions of some of their biggest songs? Forget beats and bombast—there\'s not a lick of what would commonly be recognized as trance music here. The A&B signature track \"Sun and Moon\" starts slow and meditative before launching a lighter-waving chorus befitting a Bon Jovi concert. Harps, synths, and percussion come together for \"Love Is Not Enough,\" achieving a sleek downtempo vibe, while \"Alone Tonight\" evokes Portishead. None of this is trance, but its languid melodies and atmospheric production is certainly trance-inducing.
