It’s fitting that New Orleans Internet-rap icons $uicideboy$ teamed up with Atlanta’s Germ for an EP, as both projects have made their names exploring Southern hip-hop with a gothed-out touch. “Slip On a Banana Clip” rides a rubbery bassline with a haunted piano sample straight out of Three 6 Mafia, while the Slick Rick-referencing “Treat ‘Em Like a Prostitute” mixes lo-fi drum-machine blips with gritty call-and-response chants.
